The utility room also known as the scullery room is a modernized space in which where the important additional kitchen items are kept. This ideology was first introduced in the 14th century, the idea was that in order to maintain cleanliness and keep the kitchen sanitary, a room was designed for tasks such as cleaning dishes, boiling water for cooking, washing clothes, and a place for storing cooking utensils. Sculleries often contained hot and cold sinks and the occasional slop sinks. As of today, the scullery room is known as the utility room, home not only to cooking utensils but also to the washing machines and tumble dryers. The design and colour theme of the utility room depends of the location of the utility room and the colours of the main kitchen. A little tip from our designer is to use utility room to store key household items such as the vacuum-cleaner and the iron-board.
